SAM Magazine-Squaw Valley, Calif., March 19, 2009- Squaw Valley is cutting season pass prices for the 2009-10 ski and snowboard season by up to $1,000 in honor of the 60th Anniversary of the ski area's founding and the 50th Anniversary of Squaw Valley hosting the 1960 Winter Olympics.

Coined the "50/60 Pass," the restructured season passes go on sale Friday, March 20. "It is our hope that the restructured season pass pricing is seen as a welcome benefit during these tough economic times," says Squaw Valley CEO Nancy W. Cushing.

Deals include the resort's new "Bronze Pass" ($369), good seven days a week in the early and late season but not valid during holiday periods and on Saturdays from late December until March. The Saturday restrictions (but not holidays) are dropped from the "Silver Pass" ($469). The "Gold Pass"($ 949) includes holiday skiing and benefits such as day ticket discount vouchers and free group lessons, while the "Platinum Pass" ($1,499) adds a limited number of free lift tickets and other benefits, such as free ski waxes, and discounts on other services and products. \
