SAM Magazine-Carroll Valley, Pa., Apr. 19, 2010-Liberty Mountain Resort has entered into an agreement to purchase the adjacent Carroll Valley Resort. The properties will be combined and operated under Liberty management.

"We're extremely excited with this acquisition," said Eric Flynn, Liberty president and GM. "Years ago, both properties were designed to operate as one complete four-season resort, and this purchase moves us closer to our vision of becoming the premier four-season resort in the region."

In the mid 1970s the properties were sold to separate companies and have operated independently ever since. Liberty attempted to unite the two resorts 18 months ago, but the two resorts eventually determined that, in Flynn's words, "the timing was not right." Currently, Liberty is developing a master plan that aims to integrate the two properties, which will include 100 hotel rooms, a variety of dining options, ample meeting and banquet space, more than 100 acres of ski terrain, and an 18-hole golf course.
