SAM Magazine-Olympic Valley, Calif., May 12, 2011-Squaw Valley USA is winding down a record-breaking winter by offering discounted lift tickets to season passholders from other resorts. The ski area, which racked up more than 730 inches of snow on the year, is running the promotion through closing day, May 30, 2011. The discounted lift tickets cost $49, $10 less than the resort's daily spring skiing price of $59.

For the rest of May, the mountain is operating on a Friday-through-Sunday schedule, with the addition of Monday, May 16 and Monday, May 30. The ski area is currently reporting a 155-inch base.

"Mother Nature has been especially kind to us this season," said Julie Maurer, vice president of marketing and sales. "We have broken every season snowfall total on record, and we wanted to give other passholders a chance to be a part of this legendary season."

In addition to the discounted ticket offer for passholders, the mountain will also offer $39 lift tickets on Monday, May 16, in honor of the Amgen Tour of California, currently the largest cycling event in America. Stage 2 of the event starts in The Village at Squaw Valley.
