The plan includes an expansion of 412 acres into The Beavers, a new lift to access the terrain, a year-round zipline, increased capacity for its snowmaking reservoirs and several lift upgrades.

SAM Magazine--August 31, 2012--This past Wednesday, Arapahoe Basin, Colo., introduced a long-term master development plan, kicking off what will likely be a years-long process. The plan includes an expansion of 412 acres into The Beavers, a new lift to access the terrain, a year-round zipline, increased capacity for its snowmaking reservoirs and several lift upgrades.

According to the Denver post, the plan would increase the area's "comfortable carrying capacity" 9 percent, from 3,780 visitors to 4,140 and lift capacity would increase seven percent—not a huge increase. The purpose of the Plan is to provide a better ski experience by introducing more advanced and intermediate terrain, plus year-round entertainment. In recent years, the ski area averages around 400,000 skier visits.

The public meeting is a first step for Arapahoe Basin, which operates within the White River National Forest.
