Spokane, Wash., received an amendment to its existing concession lease with the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission to pursue opening seven new runs, which would be serviced by a new chairlift, on an 850-acre parcel. The proposal was originally submitted in 2010 and has undergone several reviews. The new amendment for the not-for-profit company that runs Mt. Spokane, Mt. Spokane 2000, was granted provided that the ski area provide plans for timber harvestation and vegetation management. The next stop for the expansion process is a county permit.
