SAM Magazine—Ludlow, Vt., Oct. 21, 2014—Okemo Mountain Resort and Snow Park Technologies (SPT) have partnered on a three-year plan to reimagine the terrain park experience at the resort.

SPT has a long history of designing and constructing courses for events including the ESPN Winter X Games, Dew Tour, Burton US Open. It also regularly consults with ski areas to develop some of the top-ranked terrain parks in the country.

Okemo is home to the East's longest superpipe and has earned terrain park accolades from various snowsports publications through the years.

“We are committed to re-energizing our terrain park program and exceeding our guests' expectations,” said Okemo VP and GM Bruce Schmidt. “Our partnership with SPT will allow us to not only offer some of the most progressive parks in the region, but to redefine the type of learning terrain we're able to offer our guests.”

One of the biggest changes this season will include relocating the resort's signature Rockstar Terrain Park to offer skiers and riders an improved experience with highly creative features. The plan also includes a progression park and cross course designed specifically with those just starting out in mind.

“Skiers and riders in the North East are going to love the results of this new collaboration, and will have even more opportunities to session creative features throughout the various parks at Okemo,” said Chris “Gunny” Gunnarson, president and owner of Snow Park Technologies.
