SAM Magazine—Steamboat Springs, Colo., June 26, 2015—Rob Perlman has been named president and chief operating officer of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation effective July 1, 2015, by parent company Intrawest Holdings.

“After an extensive nationwide search and deliberate process, the Intrawest leadership team is proud to promote from within and have Rob Perlman lead Steamboat forward,” said Sky Foulkes, Intrawest's COO. “His business acumen, developed during decades in the ski and travel sectors, combined with his community involvement and resort leadership, is perfectly suited for his new expanded role at Steamboat.”

Perlman, who has been in the ski industry for more than 20 years, brings a wealth of ski and travel industry experience. Most recently, he has served as Steamboat's senior vice president of sales and marketing. He has also held leadership positions with Colorado Ski Country U.S.A., Intrawest and several resorts in California and Colorado. He has also served on the boards of the Colorado Tourism Office Board and Visit Denver.

“Steamboat's employees and community define everything that is authentic in a world-class North American ski resort, and I am elated and very humbled to have earned the top position at the resort,” said Perlman. “I look forward to working with Sky and the Intrawest team; along with Steamboat's senior management team and the entire SSRC staff to carry on Steamboat's strong results and iconic brand.”

Perlman will succeed industry veteran Chris Diamond, who is retiring at the end of June.
