SAM Magazine--June 14, 2013--The organizers behind Antelope Butte Ski Area, Mont., have realized that the area will not open for the 2013-14 season as they had hoped. Antelope Butte first closed in 2003. Two years ago, locals formed a group called the Antelope Butte Foundation in order to revive and restore the local area. According to the Billings Gazette, the foundation needs to raise about $3 million to reopen the ski area, which includes work on the lodge, lifts and new equipment, and to do so they will have to delay the opening until the following 2014-15 season.

Antelope Butte is actually located in the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming between Sheridan and Greybull. You can learn more about the effort at Thanks for the coverage. We look forward to you reporting we are open!
