SAM Magazine--Aspen, Colo., October 15, 2013--The Aspen Skiing Co. has thrown its hat in the ring to host the World Cup Finals at Aspen Mountain in 2017. According to the Aspen Daily News, Aspen has been hosting annual World Cup races for women and, on the men's side, last hosted a men's downhill in 2001. The last World Cup Finals held in North America were in 1997 at Vail. As of right now, Lenzerheide, Switzerland, is also bidding to host the Finals. FIS officials should reach a decision by June
