SAM Magazine—Park City, Utah, Dec. 3, 2013—Powdr Enterprises, a division of Powdr Corp., has acquired the Emmy Award-winning television series “World of Adventure Sports Presented by GoPro.” Powdr Enterprises is expanding the show from a television series airing on NBC and NBCSN into a year-round, multi-platform offering that integrates Powdr’s mountain resorts, television, content, digital platforms, and events.

“Powdr has an incredibly unique network to connect with the more than 58 million participants and enthusiasts of the fastest growing lifestyle segment, adventure sports,” said Wade Martin, president of Powdr Enterprises. “World of Adventure will … provide an unparalleled platform to connect and engage with the adventure lifestyle community in relevant and authentic ways.” The new World of Adventure will launch in March 2014.

“More and more brands are becoming content creators,” added Martin. “We believe we are uniquely positioned to provide both the venue/destination for proprietary brand events and activation at our resorts, and now with the new World of Adventure, we can provide turnkey distribution for that content across multiple platforms.”

World of Adventure will have six original hours of programming on NBC in 2014, and eight hours in 2015. There will also be extensive distribution across NBCSN and digital properties. In addition, World of Adventure will air over 240 hours of programming annually on Outside Television.

On the Internet, World of Adventure will appear on top adventure and lifestyle sites, and Powdr Enterprises will create a new destination site to provide original short form content, including event and athlete profiles, content generated by Powdr Resorts, partner contributed content, and extended content from the television series.
