SAM Magazine—Stowe, Vt., June 22, 2023—Vail Resorts has named Shannon Buhler as the new vice president and general manager of Stowe Mountain Resort. Shannon BuhlerShe begins July 17. Buhler most recently served as senior director of mountain operations at Vail Resorts-owned Northstar California near Lake Tahoe.

In a media release, Vail Resorts Eastern Region mountain division SVP and COO Tim Baker described Buhler as an example of the company’s deep pool of in-network talent. “We look forward to the impact she will undoubtedly make on our teams, our guests and the community,” he added.

Buhler started with Vail Resorts nearly 20 years ago in product sales and services at Breckenridge Mountain, Colo. She has since held various leadership roles within the Vail Resorts network, including at Vail Mountain and Keystone, Colo., Snow Creek, Mo., and Northstar. In addition to her operations work, Buhler is the co-lead of Vail Resorts’ Women & Allies employee resource group.

“Stowe Mountain Resort has such a strong and passionate team, and an equally vibrant and passionate community, both of which are really exciting to me as I take on this incredible opportunity,” said Buhler. “I am eager to spend my first few months really listening and learning as we continue to drive Stowe as the premier Northeast destination while being thoughtful community partners and honoring the history of Mount Mansfield.”

Buhler succeeds Bobby Murphy, who joined Vail Resorts-owned Beaver Creek, Colo., as VP and COO June 1.
