The one-stop shopping opportunity can be extremely valuable. Getting skiers and snowboarders, your customers, on the right gear, properly tuned, and ultimately giving them the best experience possible, is crucial to our industry. Rental World/Backshop helps simplify that quest by showcasing latest technology and services.

"[Making] the right decisions is hugely important,” said Ryan Hartl, rental buyer for Arizona Snowbowl, since rental decisions have multi-year impacts. “[Seeing products] side by side, it's the easiest thing to compare. We definitely spend a good amount of time in the Rental World/Backshop booth."

To make Rental World even more efficient this year, the exhibit is hosting complimentary breakfasts for rental buyers on Thursday and Friday, 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the exhibit, booth #4501. This is multi-tasking made easy: fuel up and review the brands you want to carry in your rental fleet, all at the same time.

And on Friday, pick up the latest tips on rental bootfitting for both skiers and rider from the industry's rental bootfitting experts. This Power Panel Rental Industry Roundtable, “Fitting Rental Boots (Ski/Snowboard): The 5-Minute Miracle,” Jan. 30 at 1 p.m., is hosted by SAM editor Rick Kahl, who promises it will offer plenty of ideas for improving this key step of the rental process. Let the gurus show how to get renters into the right size and right frame of mind in the most efficient way possible.

Also new this year at SIA is Industry + Intelligence on Jan 28, a day of free market intelligence, industry education, and keynote inspiration. It offers insight on the latest consumer behavior, retail data, digital marketing, social media and customer connection. And continue the education track with over 40 seminars during the SIA Snow Show, learn more at SIAsnowshow.com/seminars.

The Assembly, a big-picture look at the year-round business challenges faced by an evolving resort and tourism industry, runs concurrently with Industry + Intelligence, making for a most thought-provoking day. The event, hosted by market research and data firm DestiMetrics, is themed “Mapping the Journey to Our Future.” It will headline some well-known names in both the resort and mountain tourism industries and illuminate several possible futures. As part of this envisioning, SAM will host a discussion of on-mountain summer activities during one of the afternoon sessions.
