Push to The Latest: No

Sam Magazine—Copper Mountain, Colo., Nov. 11, 2016—In another partnership between two unaffiliated resorts, Powder Mountain in Utah and Copper Mountain in Colorado are offering three free dayspowdermtn esize of lift access to each other's season passholders. This reciprocal benefit comes at no extra cost.

“Powder Mountain's passion for adventure, diverse terrain and huge annual snowfall will be a great fit for our Copper passholders,” said Copper Mountain senior VP Jesse True.

“It's an exciting time for Powder Mountain and we're delighted to add Copper into the mix,” said Jean-Pierre Goulet, marketing manager at Powder Mountain.

Before the start of this season, Powder has expanded its lift-served terrain by more than 1,000 acres, made possible by the installation of two new chairlifts. The resort says it now has 8,464 skiable acres, which includes terrain only accessible via snowcat. Powder is also limiting the number of daily lift tickets sold to 2,000 in an effort to keep crowds down to a bare minimum.

It is also only selling 1,000 season passes for this winter, which not only limits the potential number of people on Powder's slopes, but also means Copper Mountain doesn't have to worry about a huge influx of Powder passholders taking advantage of the reciprocal benefit.

Copper passholders already enjoy three free days at Purgatory and Monarch, Colo., and another three days at Taos Ski Valley, N.M., plus free skiing at Grand Targhee, Wyo., when they book with Grand Targhee Lodging. Access to Copper is also included on the M.A.X. Pass and the Rocky Mountain Super Pass.
