SAM Magazine--August 30, 2006, Woodbury, CT--In response to recent survey results, SAM Magazine has hired an on-line editor, Tom Winter, to bring more original content and breaking news to its website at www.saminfo.com. "The survey results showed that SAM readers have come to rely on the breaking news service as its primary online source of up-to-date information," says publisher Jennifer Rowan. "So, we decided to expand on that section, as well as offer some new insight, by hiring Tom--who we're thrilled to have on board."

To reach Tom with releases, pictures and news stories, e-mail news@saminfo.com.

Tom Winter's bio: Adventure writer, extreme skier, accomplished photographer, travel journalist, event promoter: which version of Tom Winter you happen to meet depends on the day. A typical year will see the senior editor of Freeskier Magazine and global freelance journalist travel to the Alps, heli-ski in Alaska and oversee an event in Taos. With numerous pioneering ski descents on the planet's most harrowing mountains, Winter's search for adrenaline is matched by his editorial output: he's shot images for and written stories for magazines around the globe on everything from skiing in Chile to super-charging Mercedes Benz automobiles, and his published clips run into the thousands. "If you're not moving fast," he says, "then you're slow. And life is too short to be slow." \
