SAM Magazine--Salt Lake City, Utah, September 9, 2005--The executive board of Ski Utah announced this week that it would replace executive director Kip Pitou. A nationwide search for a new director will be conducted immediately.

According to the press release, last season's record snowfall and resort visits, coupled with additional funding from the Utah Office of Tourism, will have a major impact on Utah's wintersports industry for years to come. In order to capitalize on these circumstances, the executive board felt that the organization would benefit from a new leader.

Time to think out of the box!

Smart Coloradoans are fretting at the day Utah will wake up and realize its powerful potential for interconnection. We, Utahans seem unable to take the "30,000 feet view" and realize that the day Deer Valley, Park City and the Canyons are interconnected, the breach will be wide open to bridge the "Alta-Bird" joint ticket into what could be the North American equivalent of France's "Three Valleys". This endeavor should be the primarily focus of the new Leader at Ski Utah!
