Couplings
Scully Signal Co. introduces Scul-Lock, a new cam and groove coupling. Models come with male and female NPT, BSP and BSPT threads and are available in special ends for Teflon, encapsulated and composite hoses, or butt/socket welds. The locking rods and pins are constructed of stainless steel and the Scul-Lock provides an automatic lock which must be manually released in order to prevent accidental locking.
The couplings are available in standard sizes in aluminum, 316SS, Hastelloy and additional stainless alloys.

Signs
From Reliable Racing Supply comes a unique sub-surface printing process for polyshield signs. The sign’s legend is laminated between a fiberglass backing and a clear polycarbonate face and, according to the designers, this process makes it immune from abrasion and wear. Cashier’s window
The Swiss company, Bilexa, introduces an automated cashier’s window where instead of a lever, a push of a button rotates the revolving tray, for a quicker transaction. The tray is equipped with a heater for cashiers who work under cold conditions and has also been “skin plated” for better contrast between the surface and the coins.
The system comes with an intercom, which according to manufacturers, can block out loud, external noises.

Resort Technologies introduces new snowmaking system software which features a Windows-based graphical user interface that is both user friendly and displays key information at a glance. The software also has the capability to automate system operation.

Travel listing
A travel listing opportunity is being provided by International Care For Kids through its Family & Travel directory, due to launch in the spring of 1994. The directory will list “family friendly” properties including the properties’ special program for kids.
The distribution will include 20,000 travel agents, free-evaluation offers to 12.5 million prequalified families, promotional tie-ins with credit card, car rental, airline and newspaper industries. In addition to a listing, a “talking ad” is also available. Readers can call and listen to audio advertisements and then choose to be directly connected to the property. The deadline is December 31, 1993.

Ski and snowboard storage
New on the scene are snowboard and ski storage systems from Winter Manufacturing Group. The snowboard rack holds 14 boards and the ski rack contains up to 24 pairs of skis and poles. Snow and ice melting pellets
Revere Products introduces RIM snow and ice melting pellets which generate heat on contact with moisture. According to the manufacturers, at 0°F, the pellets melt ice up to 24 times faster than rock salt and leaves no residue.
When used as directed, the pellets are safe for concrete and vegetation. The product is available in 25 lb and 50 lb poly-pails and in a 100 lb fiber drum.

Anti-theft system
From the Colorado Crime Prevention Association comes the Microdot, a self-adhesive identifier the size of a grain of pepper and containing up to 75 characters of information. This system deters theft by letting a potential burglar know that the equipment is marked.
A typical kit includes microdot, permanent warning decals, black-light activated labels, large door and window warning signs and a microdot reader. The program also works for inventory.

Pager
Visiplex introduces the 2100 series desktop pocket pager. The microprocessor-based system interfaces with in-house, existing equipment and signals in alphanumeric, numeric, tone and voice over a five mile in-house radius. According to the designers, the pager can have up to eight preprogrammed, full text alarm messages, transmit emergency, safety and security information and can provide staffing status, supply demand or facility problems to both line staff and management with a 500 pager capacity.

Photo magnets
Photo magnets are available from Brite Concepts for resort or special event promotion. The magnets come in three different sizes (business card, souvenir and postcard sizes) and have rounded corners. They can be produced from negatives, slides or high quality color prints with no color separation charge.
