The I AM a Snowmaker contest—sponsored by HKD Snowmakers—highlights the hard work, determination, and camaraderie of snowmakers and recognizes their critical contributions to the alpine, Nordic, snowboard, and winter tubing industry. I AM a Snowmaker launched in 2013 and has since provided a behind-the-scenes look at the expertise and character of a wide variety of snowmaking teams across North America.
Nominations are now open for the 12th annual I AM a Snowmaker contest, sponsored by HKD Snowmakers. This year’s theme, “Shift Change,” invites resorts to show how their snowmaking crews pass the work from one shift to the next. Selected teams will create behind-the-scenes videos highlighting how they share updates, the camaraderie in the shop, and snowmaking action out on the mountain. The videos will be released and voted on in January 2027.
