SAM Magazine—Portland, Ore., March 6, 2023—Indy Pass released 2023-24 season pass pricing today.Indy NEW The new retail cost of the adult Base Pass ($279) and adult unrestricted Indy+ Pass ($379) reflects a $20 dollar increase in pricing compared to last year and is available only to current and former pass holders through March 21. The XC Pass for cross-country ski areas starts at $69.

The restriction on availability is part of a larger plan to limit the number of Indy Passes sold for the 2023-24 season “to preserve the Indy experience at participating resorts” after last season’s strong sales growth.

“As we grow, the last thing we want to do is overwhelm our resorts and ruin the experience for their guests; as such, we will be restricting sales of all adult products," said Indy Pass founder Doug Fish. As part of its growth strategy, five-year-old Indy Pass was recently acquired by its longtime technology provider, Entabeni Systems, although Fish will continue to lead the Indy Pass effort.

A waitlist has been created for non-Indy Pass holders to reserve access to available pass inventory before the general public. Waitlist members will be able to purchase passes March 24 – March 30 before general public sales begin on April 1. The waitlist can be joined at indyskipass.com.

Indy has not published a roster of participating resorts for the 2023-24 season (each partner resort commits only to a one-year contract with the pass under the Indy model), but popular Eastern locations Jay Peak, Vt., and Waterville Valley, N.H., are both committed to return.

The 2022-23 pass has 125 alpine and cross-country ski area partners that provide two days of access to pass holders, plus 14 “allied” resorts where pass holders get a discount on day tickets.

New this year, Indy is dropping its 3 percent service charge on pass purchases. Instead, pass holders will be charged a $10 flat fee for a custom-designed, commemorative, RFID-enabled Indy Pass with a photo. The pass will allow for direct-to-lift access at certain partner resorts, expedited ticket pick-up at others, as well as product and services discounts.

Indy has also updated its refund policy: Any pass holder who purchases during the early-bird pricing period (now through May 1) will be eligible for a full refund before Sept. 1, 2023.
