SAM Magazine-Denver, Feb. 2, 2011-Intrawest is moving its headquarters to the Denver metro area in the coming off-season. An internal memo informed the company's Vancouver employees of the plan last week. While the memo said the move will take place by the end of 2011, the transition could begin as early as July, SAM has learned.

Since Intrawest spun off Whistler Blackcomb in a public offering last fall, reducing its stake in Canada, and with flagship operations at Steamboat and Winter Park, Intrawest's center of gravity has clearly shifted, and a Denver base makes obvious sense.

The new offices will include Intrawest's senior management team and real estate group as well as several other departments. Club Intrawest and Intrawest Resort Club Group operations will remain in Vancouver.
