A Lift That Was A Beacon

Written by | 0 comment
The inaugural article of a new series on classic lifts features the Emerald Mountain lift from Steamboat Springs, Colorado. When residents unloaded the Constam aerial / surface lift from a boxcar in 1947, it marked major changes taking place in the emerging ski industry. Includes sidebars on E.G. Constam and the boat tow at Howelsen Hill.
