SolitudeLogo250x193“I am proud to announce that this is by far the largest single investment Solitude has ever made in its most important asset—its staff,” said president and COO Amber Broadaway. “In order to recruit and retain the best workers, and to pursue our goal of ranking among Utah’s most-preferred employers, we are thrilled to increase our starting wages and continue offering industry-leading benefits,”

Solitude is owned by Alterra Mountain Company. Alterra-owned properties Deer Valley, Utah, and Sugarbush, Vt., also recently increased their starting wage to $15. Several Vail-owned properties—including Park City Mountain, which neighbors Solitude and Deer Valley—also upped their starting wage to $15 an hour, but employees won’t feel the effects until winter.
