SAM Magazine—Breckenridge, Colo., Nov. 17, 2025—The Breckenridge Ski Patrol Union (BSPU) and Vail Resorts reached a tentative agreement after a late-night bargaining session on Nov. 13 that ended a planned picket and replaced the patrol’s expiring contract.
“Breckenridge Ski Resort and the Breckenridge Ski Patrol Union are pleased to announce that we have reached a new tentative agreement through November 15, 2028,” said the groups in a joint statement obtained by The Summit Daily.
The BSPU bargaining committee unanimously recommended ratification of the deal. The previous contract expired Nov. 15 and had been under negotiation since April.
On Nov. 11, BSPU president Ryan Dineen applied for a permit to picket on Nov. 16 at the bottom of the BreckConnect Gondola. The picket was called off after the successful Thursday night bargaining session with Vail Resorts.
Details of the full agreement have not been disclosed, pending ratification by union members. The union was seeking better wages, benefits, and career development aligned with patrol responsibilities.
