Rendering of the new Wild West Express lift.As it approaches its 60th anniversary season, Powderhorn Mountain Resort is introducing a limited three-year season pass, positioning it as both a loyalty offering and commitment to affordability amid a major capital upgrade and plans for future improvements.
“For 60 years, Powderhorn has been a place people return to again and again—sometimes for generations,” general manager Ryan Schramm said. “This 3-Year Pass is our way of saying thank you to the guests who call this mountain home, while also inviting them to be a part of what comes next.”
The Grand Mesa ski area said it will offer a capped number of three-year passes at an introductory price of $999, later increasing to $1,199. The pass locks in three consecutive winters of unlimited access beginning with the 2026-27 season, which marks the area’s 60th year of operation. In comparison, the regular price for a 2025-26 adult season pass is $749.
The multi-year offering comes as Powderhorn prepares for this summer’s installation of the Wild West Express, a high-speed quad chairlift scheduled to be ready for the 2026-27 winter season. The lift will replace the West End double and is expected to significantly reduce ride times and improve access to terrain on the mountain’s west side.
Schramm characterized the lift as a “transformational investment,” adding that the anniversary season presented “the right moment to connect the future of the mountain with the people who have supported it all along.”
In addition to lift access, the three-year pass includes early lift access on select days, a hosted gathering with resort leadership, and commemorative pass media. Once the predetermined number of passes is sold, the product will be removed from the market.
Powderhorn, located on the Western Slope of Colorado, offers approximately 1,600 skiable acres and is operated by Pacific Group Resorts (PGR), based in Park City, Utah.
Resort officials said additional details on anniversary programming and future capital improvements will be released as the milestone season approaches.
