Do you really mean to say you don’t know that moguls are made by Mogul Gophers, who live wherever there’s snow and whose purpose in life is to push up snow so that kids have a place to jump? These gophers, together with five other Snow Monsters™, have now become members of the NSAA team.
“We have reached an agreement with Jack Turner, of Sirdar, to make Snow Monsters available to our membership,” said NSAA’s Michael Berry. “This program will allow areas to utilize Jack’s characters, videotapes, coloring books and other Snow Monster products that he may develop. Snow Monsters send a positive message to kids and their families about our sport. We are pleased to support this program.”

The fertile mind of Jack Turner, working through his marketing firm, Sirdar, created a 32-minute MTV-style movie, shot on location at Steamboat, Colo., that features prominent recording artists. In the course of a magic journey, the kids in the movie, led by Snowball the snow tiger, meet snow snakes, mogul gophers, powder pigs and the other monsters, all while learning about what it’s like on the slopes.
Turner sees the Snow Monsters as potentially able to play the same role for the ski/snowboard world as Mickey and his fellow Disney characters have long played in the growth of that empire.
