Frank Bowers died last year at the age of 67. He worked for Hall Ski-Lift and its successor, Von Roll Tramways, for 30 years, starting as a service mechanic and on up the ladder to service department manager. That was his job and he did it very well. But Frank carried his duties much further. Many is the customer who was bailed out on a busy weekend or Christmas eve by Frank’s intuitive competence; countless are the trainees at a maintenance school who were helped along and encouraged by Frank.
We single him out here because, in many ways, Frank personified what is so worthy about our industry. His type of quiet dedication to safety has stood us all well. We salute him.
