Disc Golf promoted for ski area use
The Disc Golf Association has been formed to promote the installation and use of these courses around the world.
Site requirements for a Disc Golf course are minimal, according to Ken Krengel, president of Seasons of Leisure. “Any ski area can be sure of having good terrain,” he says, “and it is a natural for building summer business.”
Seasons of Leisure also markets the Red Rumbler summer slide system.
“Sno-Pro” Snow Gun
Snow Systems Engineering, 92 Advance Road., Toronto, Ont. M8Z 2T7, has introduced a new air/water snowgun called the S.S.E. Sno-Pro.
The unit is an internal-mix gun. The patent covers a mixing arrangement whereby “we use the venturi principle downstream of the first mixing stage producing a second mixing stage that results in an efficient, quiet snow gun,” according to Snow Systems president, Ken Nesbitt.
Capacity claimed is up to 60 gpm at 10-deg. F. at 65 percent relative humidity. “The challenge of any snowmaking device,” adds Nesbitt, “is to produce reasonably good quality snow in a volume sufficient to justify its operation under high temperature (over 25-deg F) as well as high humidity (over 65 per cent) conditions.”
