SAM Magazine—Durango, Colo., March 21, 2023—Mountain Capital Partners released its 2023-24 Power Pass family of season passes today, raising the price of its top-tier Power Pass $50 while lowering or keeping flat the prices of others and adding a new pass-holder benefit of 30 percent off day tickets.MCP HN

The Power Pass is good at Spider Mountain Bike Park in Texas and eight Western ski areas, including Purgatory and Hesperus, Colo.; Arizona Snowbowl, Ariz.; Brian Head and Nordic Valley, Utah; Pajarito and Sipapu, N.M.; and Willamette Pass, Ore., which MCP began operating in October 2022. MCP became majority owner of Chile’s Valle Nevado in January, but as of now the Southern Hemisphere resort is not included on the Power Pass.

It appears that MCP isn’t done adding to its portfolio. “The Power Pass exists to give people the freedom to ski, and we will continue to bring that purpose to more mountains in the future,” said MCP managing partner James Coleman.

The new benefit of six day tickets at 30 percent off the online variable rate (i.e., whatever the lift ticket rate is online at the time of booking), is included on the Power Pass, Power Pass Select, and Power Pass Core. Guests who purchase their Power Pass or Power Pass Select by May 5 also get three bonus days each at the bike parks of Purgatory, Brian Head, and Pajarito.

The flagship Power Pass provides unlimited access to MCP’s eight ski areas and Spider Mountain. It starts at $749 for adults ages 37-64.

The Power Pass Select provides 12 total restricted days shared between Purgatory and Arizona Snowbowl with holiday blackout dates, as well as unlimited access to Spider Mountain and the other six ski areas. It starts at $549 for adults ages 37-64, down from the early price of $599 for 2022-23, and is available for as low as $199 for teens ages 13-18.

Power Pass Core starts at $299 for adults ages 37-64, the same price as 2022-23. It offers four total restricted days shared between Purgatory, Arizona Snowbowl, Brian Head, and Spider Mountain, with holiday blackout dates; unlimited access at Pajarito, Sipapu, and Hesperus; and restricted access to Nordic Valley and Willamette Pass (holiday blackout dates apply).

And the Power Kids pass is a free, unrestricted season pass for kids ages 12 and younger that includes unlimited access to all eight ski areas for the 2023-24 winter season, the three bike parks in summer 2023, plus Spider Mountain through April 30, 2024, no purchase required.

Other benefits include the ability to buy now and ski now, so new pass holders can ski the rest of the 2022-23 season on their 2023-24 pass; a zero percent interest payment plan; free shipping of pass products; and the ability to simply renew and reuse existing season pass media.
