New data suggests there are five million U.S. skiers, not the 11 to 14 million we read about. A comparative look at the different studies conducted by American Sports Data (ASD), National Sporting Goods Association (NSGA) and the Leisure Trends/ Gallup poll results. The three researchers use different methodologies to determine the total number of active skiers in a particular year, with varying results.
