SAM Magazine—Madison, N.H., June 26, 2025—Longtime team member Amanda Buswell has been promoted by the Hoyt family—owners of King Pine Ski Area, Danforth Bay Camping & RV Resort, and Purity Spring Resort, among other businesses—to the role of regional general manager in charge of strategic operations and planning across the portfolio.
Buswell was named general manager of Danforth Bay in 2024 and has more than 23 years of experience with the Hoyt family businesses, starting as a summer housekeeper and working her way through nearly every department. She managed guest services at King Pine for more than 20 seasons.
"What started out for me as a summer housekeeping job has grown into a career I truly love,” said Buswell. “To now step into a regional role and help shape the future of all three properties is both humbling and exciting. I’m honored to work alongside a leadership team that’s deeply committed to quality, service, and constant improvement.”
In her new regional role, she will continue to lead operations at Danforth Bay while also supporting the teams at King Pine and Purity Spring Resort in long-term planning, budgeting, and capital investment initiatives. Shawn Taylor will continue to serve as GM of King Pine. Buswell will oversee snowmaking enhancements at the ski area this summer as part of more than $1 million in upgrades across the portfolio.
“We’re thrilled to see Amanda grow into this role,” said the Hoyt family in a joint statement. “Her long history with our businesses, dedication to the guest experience, and ability to lead with both empathy and efficiency have earned the trust of our entire team. She’s helping ensure that we continue to evolve while staying true to our family’s values.”
