SAM Magazine—Bartlett, N.H., Sept. 5, 2026—Vail Resorts named Deirdre Riley general manager of Attitash Mountain and Wildcat Mountain, effective Sept. 7. Riley most recently served as general manager of Vail Resorts’ Crotched Mountain, N.H., for the past two seasons.

“With more than 25 years in the ski industry, Deirdre’s experience spans nearly every facet of mountain operations, from ski patrol and lift operations to health and safety and resort leadership,” said Tim Harris, chief operating officer of Vail Resorts’ Local Resorts. “She is a highly respected and visible leader who is passionate about supporting employees, fostering strong teams, and creating exceptional experiences for guests. We are excited to welcome her to Wildcat and welcome her back to Attitash, the team, and the community.”

Riley began her ski industry career at Stowe Mountain Resort, Vt., in 2000 before moving on to leadership roles at Canyons Resort and Park City Mountain Resort, Utah. In 2018, she joined Crested Butte Mountain Resort, Colo., as senior manager of health and safety. She returned to the Northeast in 2020 to serve as senior mountain operations manager at Attitash, where she played a key role in the resort’s operations and growth before being named general manager of Crotched Mountain in 2024.

During her two seasons at Crotched, Riley focused on team development, operational innovation, safety, inclusivity, and strengthening the resort’s relationship with the surrounding community.

“I am incredibly grateful to the team, the community, and our guests for all they have shown me during my time at Crotched,” Riley said. “There is truly no mountain quite like Crotched. The people, energy, and sense of community make it a place unlike any other, and I will always be thankful for my experience here. As difficult as it is to say goodbye, I am excited to return to the Mount Washington Valley and begin my next chapter as general manager of Attitash Mountain and Wildcat Mountain.”
