SAM Magazine—Glenwood, N.Y., March 2, 2026—Matt ThomasKissing Bridge All Seasons Resort has hired Matt Thomas as its new general manager. Thomas comes to the role with nearly 30 years of ski industry experience, most recently serving more than six years as director of risk management at Telluride Ski and Golf, Colo.

“We are beyond excited to bring Matt to Kissing Bridge,” said Kissing Bridge chairman Rhett McNulty. “He has a truly unique set of skills, with experience at both large and small resorts, deep technical and operational expertise, and a proven track record across safety, events, and guest experience. This is a big win for a community resort like Kissing Bridge. Matt’s caliber, perspective, and leadership will help us honor the mountain’s history while executing a thoughtful revival that introduces new activities and offerings, all managed at a world-class level.”

Prior to Telluride, Thomas was the vice president and general manager of Roundtop Mountain Resort, Pa., from 2016 to 2020. Earlier in his career he led risk management at Alyeska Resort, Alaska, and Camelback, Pa., and managed lift operations at Mount Snow, Vt., and Mountain Creek, N.J.

“I grew up in the ski industry, starting in rentals and learning what it takes to keep a resort running from the ground up,” said Thomas. “Kissing Bridge reminds me of the places that made me fall in love with skiing: community-focused, family-oriented, and powered by passionate employees. I’m honored to join the team and lead such a special resort into its next chapter.”

In addition to his role as general manager, “Thomas will spearhead a strategic joint venture to develop and launch a new risk analysis technology,” the press release about his appointment said, adding that the product will be released in the 2026-27 season and “the platform aims to help resorts better anticipate risk, improve decision-making, and enhance guest and employee safety.”

While at Telluride, Thomas developed a system that digitally streamlined injury and near-miss reporting and tracking, among other functions. He discusses it in the forthcoming Technology Mountain Department supplement that will accompany the March issue of SAM magazine.
