Since 2004, Kuller had created a series of successes for Camden and the larger community that skis, hikes, and bikes on Ragged Mountain. He expanded terrain for all those sports and revived Nordic skiing at the mountain. Kuller also upgraded the snowmaking plant, re-energized the learn-to-ski program in area schools, and built a beginner slope.
"He has left a big mark on this community," said Rick Knowlton, chairman of the Ragged Mountain Redevelopment Committee, which is overseeing a major overhaul of the Snow Bowl.
A memorial service is being held today at the Camden Opera House. Memorial donations may be made to the Ragged Mountain Recreation Area Foundation, P.O. Box 438, Camden, ME 04843.
