SAM Magazine—Broomfield, Colo., May 22, 2025—Vail Resorts’ Epic Pass will include access to resorts in Austria’s Saalbach, Zell am See-Kaprun, Mayrhofen, and Hintertux for the 2025-26 season.
The Epic Pass and Epic Adaptive Pass will include a total of five consecutive days of access across Mayrhofen and Hintertux, which encompass six distinct areas: Hintertux Glacier, Eggalm, Rastkogel, Finkenberg, Penken and Ahorn. In Saalbach and Zell am See-Kaprun, Epic Pass holders will have five days of access to Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn and Kitzsteinhorn mountain resorts.
“Expanding access in Austria invites our pass holders to discover new destinations, different snow conditions, thrilling terrain and unique alpine villages,” said Bill Rock, president of Vail Resorts’ Mountain Division.
The additions offer vast skiable areas. Mayrhofen and Hintertux areas have a total of 120 miles of terrain, including year-round skiing and riding on the Hintertux Glacier. Saalbach is one of the largest ski areas in Austria, with more than 165 miles of terrain alone.
“The Epic Pass opens the door to a global ski community—filling us with pride and excitement,” said Isabella Dschulnigg-Geissler, CEO of Saalbach Cablecar Company. “It is a strong signal of our ski areas’ international appeal and a major milestone for all of us. Together with Zell am See-Kaprun, we are thrilled to take this forward-thinking step.”
“The Hintertux Glacier is well known amongst skiers around the world—in fact, many U.S. ski racers have trained here,” said Hintertux Glacier CEO Klaus Dengg. “From the high-alpine terrain of Hintertux to the varied slopes of the five Mayrhofen ski areas, Epic Pass Holders are in for unforgettable moments from glacier runs to tree-lined pistes.”
Saalbach, Zell am See-Kaprun, Mayrhofen, and Hintertux join Ski Arlburg as Austrian Epic Pass partners.
