SAM Magazine—Enfield, N.H., Oct. 3, 2025—Whaleback Mountain has named Khara Benoit as its new general manager.
Benoit has spent the past four years at Whaleback managing the lodge, events, food and beverage, and daily operations, a role that allowed her to combine her passion for the mountain with her commitment to creating community-centered spaces.
Before joining Whaleback, Benoit worked in education, teaching preschool, special education and middle school in Colorado and New Hampshire. A Vermont native, she grew up skiing Whaleback’s steeps and racing at Saskadena Six. Today, she often skis gates and trees with her daughter.
“Whaleback has always been more than just a mountain to me—it’s a community with an unbeatable vibe,” Benoit said. “I’m beyond excited to be part of its future and to help share the magic of this place with new skiers and families.”
