SAM Magazine—Reno, Nev., Dec. 2, 2025—The Sky Tavern board of directors has appointed Chris "Toph" Brown as the Nevada ski area’s new chief executive officer. The decision was announced Oct. 25, 2025, following the retirement of former CEO Pat Cashell.

Brown has long been part of the Sky Tavern leadership team, most recently serving as chief operating officer and executive director. 

In the board’s statement, officials said they “look forward to continued progress under the leadership of Chris Brown.”

As COO/ED, Brown helped manage day-to-day operations of the nonprofit’s junior ski program, ski and bike resort functions, youth instruction and community recreation initiatives.
