SAM Magazine—Albion, Idaho, March 3, 2026—Pomerelle Mountain HNPomerelle Mountain Resort in southern Idaho has been sold to mountain manager Zach Alexander and his wife, Crystal, according to Ski Idaho.

The Anderson family, which has owned and operated the ski area for decades, finalized the sale this month. Financial terms were not disclosed. Local Freshies first reported the sale.

Alexander has longstanding ties to the resort, having grown up on the hill and worked in nearly every department. His grandparents, Barry and Sheryl Whiting, directed Pomerelle’s ski school, and he told Local Freshies he first dreamed of owning the mountain as a child.

Alexander has more than 20 years of experience in various roles at Pomerelle. He holds a ski area operations degree from Colorado Mountain College and is a certified AASI Level 3 snowboard instructor.

He and Crystal said their priority as the resort’s new owners is to deliver “all the same thrills without the frills,” and to maintain its character as a smaller, independent ski area rather than pursue commercialization.

The couple met at Pomerelle when Crystal was a ski instructor, and they now raise their family in the community.

“I know my guests by name. I know every employee by name,” Alexander told Local Freshies. “They’re not just numbers. They’re my extended family.”
