SAM Magazine—Charlevoix, Québec, May 27, 2026—Quebec Ski AreaTotal skier visits were up 5.1 percent year-over-year, and lift ticket revenue reached a record $190.5 million (CA$263.7 million) for Quebec ski areas in 2025-26, according to the Quebec Ski Areas Association (ASSQ), the trade organization representing 73 member ski areas in the province. Preliminary results of the ski season were shared at ASSQ’s annual conference this week in Charlevoix, where 425 industry stakeholders are gathered.

Despite a truncated spring skiing period due to the early onset of warm and wet weather, the early start to the season and consistently good conditions throughout most of the winter led to Québec ski areas recording 6.317 million total skier visits during the 2025-26 season, with Québec’s three largest ski regions—the Laurentians (up 2 percent), Eastern Townships (up 8 percent), and Québec City/Charlevoix (up 2 percent)—accounting for 77 percent of that total.

Season pass sales grew 11 percent year-over-year to reach 334,580 pass holders, and daily ticket sales rose by 7 percent. Ancillary winter revenues recorded the strongest increase among all categories, climbing 18 percent. Ski school revenue reached $25.3 million (CA$35 million), up 13 percent over 2024-25.

ASSQ’s Never Ever Days—a learn-to program with dozens of participating ski areas offering discounted learn-to packages—introduced an all-time high of more than 12,500 new participants to skiing and riding.

While climate change remains a major long-term challenge for the industry, ASSQ said ski areas continue to invest in adaptation strategies aimed at maintaining high-quality guest experiences and operational resilience.

“These preliminary results demonstrate that Québecers continue to embrace winter recreation and that ski areas successfully delivered a high-quality experience despite the operational challenges facing the industry,” said ASSQ CEO Yves Juneau. “Québecers want to stay active during the winter season, and ski areas are thrilled to see that snow sports remain one of the preferred ways for families and outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy winter in Quebec’s mountains.”
