Capacity Management Video Series

  • Push to The Latest: No

Welcome to the Capacity Management Video Series brought to you in partnership with SNOW Operating. In this 4-Part video series, we will share some insights on how resorts can manage capacity. Using real data collected at Big SNOW American Dream, SNOW Operating will illustrate how to use basic Lean Six Sigma concepts in helping to plan your physical spaces and guest experiences. Lean Six Sigma is a method of analyzing processes, in order to maximize efficiency and improve the overall guest experience.

 Lesson Considerations

In today’s world adopting a more self-guided, feature-based approach to your learning area holds more benefits then ever. In our final video we will explore how Big SNOW is using Terrain Based Learning™ and technology to their advantage in keeping lessons socially distant, and look at how you can apply these concepts to your guest experiences this winter.

Lift Considerations

In this installment we will take a look at how to measure your real-world uphill capacity at the lifts.  We will also highlight a few considerations for you to keep in mind when it comes to lift queuing and wait times depending on what your state’s capacity restrictions might be.

Rental Flow

In this video, Eric Lipton of SNOW Operating will guide you through how to better understand your rental shop flow and calculate your true guest capacity with an easy-to- do exercise that can be applied to any process.

Session Time Bookings

In this first video, we will explore some of the how-to's and pitfalls if you’re considering adopting Session-time Bookings at your resort this winter.  In the subsequent videos in this series we’ll be looking at calculating your true capacities, managing rental shop flow, planning for your lifts and ways to improve the lesson experience while maintaining social distancing.

We hope that these videos will help you in your winter planning. Have questions? Email olivia@saminfo.com or eric@snowoperating.com.
