ezWaiver from XECU Group, LLC. is an innovative, electronic waiver management system that increases the reliability and accuracy of liability waivers. It also eliminates paper and streamlines the waiver process. Guests must view the entire waiver before signing, ensuring that signers have reviewed all of the document. ezWAIVER allows resorts to incorporate whatever language their state may require; resorts control the wording. The electronic “paperwork”?is then stored securely, and can be retrieved quickly for any legal needs that may arise.

Nautic Jet
Star lifts USA is introducing the Nautic Jet to the U.S. market. (The Jet has been available in Europe for more than 20 years.) Gliding over land, through air, and on water, the Nautic Jet is a single-person ride. The Jet access area is equipped with a floor sensor that monitors the boarding area to ensure that the path is clear. Then the Jet is pulled up the in-run to a height of 24 feet. The Jet automatically releases once it reaches the top, and sends the pilot down the track to shoot out over the water for a flight distance of up to 18 feet and finally to land and float to a stop.

WieLi Transport System
Wiegand is introducing the WieLi transport system to the U.S. this summer. The WieLi is designed for specialty venues such as terrain parks, tubing parks, mountain bike parks, ski jumping and the like. The uplift system, which employs a track and support structure without concrete foundations, can follow a twisting, non-linear path. Custom vehicle configurations are available to suit year-round, multi-use purposes.

ZipTour Speed Brake
Terra-Nova is upping its ZipTour trolley with a customer-controlled speed brake. According to manufacturers, the brake affords riders complete control of their ziplining tour. Zipliners riding side-by-side can slow down to chat while taking in the view, for example, or speed up and race to the finish. Currently, there are two braking installations in the U.S., at Gunstock, N.H., and Canyons Resort, Utah.

Powerfan Freefall Simulator
Aerial Adventure Tech’s Powerfan is a self-powered, free-fall simulation device. It can be used from almost any height and complements challenge courses, canopy tours, and climbing walls.

Freefallers make a rapid initial descent, then slow to a gentle landing. The Powerfan device controls the descent, dissipating the potential energy by means of a fan and conical-shaped rope drum. The fan is driven only by the descending person’s mass, and does not rely on an external power source. Currently, there are close to a dozen installations in the U.S. The latest developments for Powerfan include the addition of a hydraulic lift for the “Powerfan Plummet” series, as well as a model for jumps of up to 360 feet.

Magnetic Climbing WAll
Spider Climbing Inc.’s magnetic climbing wall gives mortals a taste of the superhero life as they climb up and down, as well as upside down and horizontally, on this unusual climbing system. No hand- or footholds are necessary, as magnets attach climbers to the wall. Available in 12-, 16- and 20-foot-high setups, the vertical wall comes with full body safety harnesses and belay units; the latter are available with manual guide rings or auto belays. David Allen Barnes, company founder, even created a physics curriculum for the attraction to help operators appeal to school groups. At half the price of the standard climbing wall and with substantially less market saturation, Spider Climbing’s wall can be appealing to both guests and the bottom line.

Saferoller Continuous Belay System
One of the most recent developments in continuous belay technology from Europe is the Saferoller Continuous Belay System from Aerial Adventure Tech. The system increases the age range allowed on a ropes course, and increases participant volume potential, since customers move freely without the need for a high staff ratio. The system allows for various belay loops within one course and can accommodate ziplines in the middle or at the end of a course. Saferoller can be designed into new course installations or adapted to previously-built courses.

Soaring Eagle Zipline
The Soaring Eagle zipline has an “active cable”—the two-seat ride is attached to a cable that travels up and down the slope. Riders load and unload in the same location, and travel at a programmable speed. Unlike most ziplines, riders are pulled in reverse from the load position up to a start tower, from which riders accelerate down the slope back to the load position. Typical ride lengths vary from 600 to 1,000 feet; but, thanks to the reverse and forward elements, the ride length is doubled.
