Director of Mountain Operations

Woods Valley Ski Area, Westernville, NY, is seeking a year-round Director of Mountain Operations to join the leadership team of our family-owned ski area in Central New York.

We’re looking for a leader first—someone with strong mechanical aptitude, sound judgment, a great work ethic, and the ability to work effectively with a small, experienced team.

The position provides leadership and oversight for daily mountain operations, snowmaking, grooming, lifts and infrastructure, equipment maintenance, safety, and operational readiness. This is a hands-on role: you need to be willing to step in when necessary while also knowing how to lead, delegate, and support your team.

Ski industry experience is strongly preferred, but leadership ability, mechanical aptitude, judgment, and cultural fit matter more.
