"Learning from shared experiences with your colleagues, away from our home resort, was incredibly impactful. The program at the Tremblant Summer Ops Camp was so striking that I brought our leadership team back to the location a few months later."

"Every time I attend Summer Ops Camp, it is well worth it. I get inspired and motivated by other resorts' operations. In return, I get to bring back meaningful ideas to help grow my operation and a couple good stories as well. Camp gives us the opportunity to connect with each other and grow our community of summer operators. These takeaways from camp are priceless."
- Tish Lopez, Director of Tram & Lifts and Summer Ops, Snowbird, Utah
Zooming In: One Full Day of Experiential Learning
At Summer Ops Camp, learning goes beyond the classroom—each session is designed to immerse attendees in the real-world potential of summer operations. What better way to know what your guests want than to experience things as your customer! Set against the backdrop of Whistler Blackcomb, this full day of experiential programming on Wednesday, Sept. 3, showcases how resorts can activate their mountain assets to deliver high-impact summer experiences.
The day kicks off with a Vendor Showcase Breakfast, a prime opportunity to explore the latest tools, services, and partnerships that can power warm-weather success. A morning education session lays the groundwork, covering trends and tactics from leading operators and experts.
Then, it’s time to step out and experience what summer ops looks like in action:
- Family Activities on Blackcomb Peak offer a firsthand look at how kid-friendly programming—like the interpretive trail and playground—can broaden your audience and boost engagement. Pop-up talks from experts will provide the how and why.
- A ride on the Peak 2 Peak Gondola—the world’s longest unsupported span for a lift of this kind at 3.024 km/1.88 miles—transports attendees from Blackcomb Peak to Whistler Peak, offering sweeping views and a lesson in how scenic access can be a cornerstone of summer revenue. Bonus: Pop-up talks in several of the gondolas for those who desire more insights into Whistler’s operations and summer business.
- At the Umbrella Bar at the Roundhouse, attendees will experience how a thoughtfully placed, high-altitude F&B venue can become a standout summer draw.
- After a group lunch and education session at the Roundhouse Lodge, attendees choose their own experiential path back to the village base area:
- The Cloudraker Skybridge and Raven’s Eye Platform Tour offers insight into the power of scenic infrastructure to drive volume.
- Or join the Whistler Bike Park Tour, a dynamic exploration of one of the world’s premier bike parks, where flow trails, skill zones, and lift access combine to create a world-class experience.
The day wraps with a unique dining experience in the mountains, followed by a captivating nightcap: a walk through Vallea Lumina, an enchanting multimedia experience designed by Moment Factory that redefines what evening programming can offer.
Each touchpoint throughout the day is a living case study supported by insights from experts and fellow colleagues—designed to inspire, educate, and equip attendees with actionable ideas to elevate their own resort's summer operations.
