SAM Magazine—Park City, Utah, Aug. 22, 2018—Following the departure of Gail Barille, the National Ability Center’s (NAC) chief executive officer for the last eight years, former NAC chief operating officer Kevin Stickelman has been appointed by the board of Kevin Stickelman National Ability Centerdirectors as interim CEO.

Stickelman joined NAC two years ago as its first COO. Prior to that, he was president and general manager of Lee Canyon Ski Area in Nevada. In 2014, while at Lee Canyon, Stickelman was recognized with a SAMMY Leadership Award. In total, he has more than 20 years of ski industry and outdoor recreation management experience.

“The National Ability Center is stronger than ever,” said Stickelman. “We have a powerful internal organization, a dedicated donor community, committed community and corporate partners, and thousands of local, national, and international participants who come to Utah to maximize their potential through our transformational adaptive recreation programming. As a united team, we will continue to empower people of all abilities and embrace the mission that Meeche White envisioned over 30 years ago.”

The National Ability Center provides world-class adaptive recreation and Splore outdoor adventures for individuals and families of differing abilities facing physical, cognitive, and developmental challenges, and supports competitive athletes including youth and veterans.
