SAM Magazine—Natick, Mass., Aug. 26, 2019—SAM Magazine has partnered with High Peaks Group—a consulting firm specializing in leadership and team development—to offer the Professional Enrichment and Knowledge (PEAK) Navigator program, a leadershipSAM PeakNavigator web workshop designed to help mountain resort leaders tune their leadership style, get teams engaged, and build employee loyalty. The program benefits anyone who manages direct reports: managers, directors, VPs, GMs, etc.

Through an online assessment and report, PEAK Navigator enables participants to identify the behaviors they use most often in their leadership role and measures those specific behaviors that create a culture of high engagement and performance.

An accredited High Peaks Group coach will help participants through the process of completing the leadership assessment, interpreting the individualized report, creating and reviewing a learning plan, and will also keep participants accountable. In addition, all participants have access to a community of peers to help build their coaching skills—an important aspect of leadership—and also get useful feedback.

This new workshop debuted in a similar format at the Ski California LMOE conference in June, and is being offered at the ISKINY/PSAA Expo in September, registration for which is already full.

High Peaks Group founder and CEO Paul Thallner leads the workshops. Thallner is also the facilitator and executive adviser for the SAM Summit Series mentoring program, which provides up-and-coming resort managers with the opportunity to learn from current industry leaders. He has also authored several articles in SAM and its sister publication Adventure Park Insider on the subjects of leadership, management, and company culture.

The PEAK Navigator Fall 2019 program starts in October. Registration is now open through Oct. 18. Spaces are limited.
