SAM Magazine—Natick, Mass., Jan. 5, 2024—More than 3,500 votes, the most ever, were cast in the 17th annual SAM Terrain Park Contest in which a total of 69 resort-submitted entries from ski areas around the globe competed for the top spot in one of four categories: features, events, edits, and park crew. 

The votes have been tallied, and the results are in. The winners of the 2023 SAM Terrain Park Contest are:

Feature: Love Park, Bear Creek, Pa.

 Event: Winterfest Rail Jam, Blue Mountain, Pa.

Crew: The Copper Mountain Crew, Copper Mountain, Colo.

Edit: C-Sessions 11.3, Mount Snow, Vt.

All winners will receive a prize package from contest sponsor Prinoth and priceless bragging rights. And, for the most votes overall in multiple categories, Blue Mountain, Pa., will receive an all-inclusive registration to SAM’s annual Cutter’s Camp.

“It’s exciting to see the number of votes this year—it shows the abundance of passion and pride these terrain park professionals have in their work and the respect they have for their peers” said SAM publisher Olivia Rowan. “We congratulate the winners, and we hope the annual Terrain Park Contest inspires mountain resort professionals to continue pushing what is possible in their parks, whether they are building for the smallest groms, top athletes, or everyone between.”

A selection of the entries were shared in the November 2023 issue of SAM, and all were posted on saminfo.com, where the public was able to vote for their favorite in each category throughout November and December.
