SAM Magazine—Eagle Mountain, Utah, May 24, 2024—Loam Pass, a new multi-destination product in the vein of Indy Pass but geared toward mountain bikers, has added 12 new destinations for its first summer season, bringing its total to more than 40 resort, bike park, and shuttle service partners.

"We are super stoked to be partnering with some of the best destinations in the country,” said Loam co-founder Rob Brown. “Our mission is to make the best biking accessible on one season pass.”

Among the new resort partners are Angel Fire Resort, N.M.; Woodward Park City, Utah; Mt. Bachelor, Ore.; Killington Resort, Vt.; The Highlands, Mich.; and Spirit Mountain, Minn.

“Angel Fire Bike Park is excited to partner with Loam Pass this season to help expand our riding community across the country,” said bike park manager Patrick West.

Bringing new riders to resorts was one of the aims Brown outlined when he spoke with SAM about plans for the pass back in March. Brown, who dubbed Loam a “travel pass,” noted that “bikers aren't known for being big spenders, despite buying $10,000 bikes,” but that they do “tend to travel and explore,” which is where Loam hoped to slot into the market.

Loam Pass starts at $249 and provides passholders with two days at each destination as well as discounts on additional days, rentals, dining, and lodging on a per destination basis.

The pass pays partner destinations based on redemption volumes, with partners receiving roughly 85 percent of their rack rate per visit, said Brown.

To incentivize would-be passholders for the upcoming season, folks who purchase a Loam Pass before May 31, 2024, will be entered to win a heli-biking trip in Moab, Utah.
